At CU Boulder, English students develop precise reading and writing skills while honing critical thinking and creativity. Our program fosters humanistic understanding and global awareness, equipping graduates to become active participants in shaping societies and cultures worldwide. Students can choose between two focus areas: literary analysis or creative composition.
Graduates emerge as skilled readers and writers, capable of both analytical and imaginative thought, preparing them for rewarding careers in teaching, publishing, legal fields, corporate environments, and nonprofit organizations.
Undergraduate international students are students who have completed a secondary school and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and who have or will be applying for a temporary U.S. Visa, such as an F-1 or J-1.

IELTS: 6.5
Total scores must include a TOEFL writing sub score of 19 or higher or an IELTS writing sub score of 5.5 or higher. Scores may not be combined.
