This interdisciplinary program combines courses from the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) in the College of Medicine and the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Nuclear Engineering (MINE) in the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences. The program structure balances health and engineering perspectives on ergonomics and safety, equipping students to address present and emerging workplace challenges. Typically, engineering graduates apply for OSE admission through MINE, while applicants with backgrounds in medical sciences, biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, or management apply via DEH. To gain comprehensive training in both engineering and health dimensions of ergonomics and safety, students are advised to enroll in elective courses from both departments whenever possible.
