The PhD program in accounting aims to equip students with the essential knowledge and abilities for a thriving academic career. Our coursework offers an in-depth exploration of accounting scholarship while cultivating the proficiency needed to conduct impactful research valued by both scholars and practitioners. Working closely with faculty advisors, students refine crucial competencies in research methodology, analytical modeling, and academic writing.

Our accounting department features numerous distinguished scholars eager to collaborate with doctoral candidates. Faculty publications appear in top-tier accounting journals including The Accounting Review and Contemporary Accounting Research, as well as respected publications like Accounting Horizons, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, and Journal of Business Ethics. Many professors specialize in international accounting research, contributing to prominent journals such as The European Accounting Review and The Journal of International Accounting Research.

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for all applicants whose native language is other than English. Official scores from the Educational Testing Service must be submitted before an admissions decision can be made. Copies of test scores are not acceptable. Presently, the minimum TOEFL score acceptable for graduate work in the College of Business is 100 internet-based (250 computer-based or 600 paper-based). The average TOEFL score for doctoral students is 111 internet- based (273 computer-based or 640 paper-based). IELTS- 7
