CCM's Piano Department stands among the elite, distinguished by its all-Steinway status. Students enjoy access to over 170 pianos - one of the world's most extensive collections of new Steinways - alongside instruction from renowned faculty and collaboration opportunities with top-tier musicians in exceptional facilities.

The performance-focused program features weekly private lessons with faculty mentors, chamber music guidance, and abundant practical experience. DMA Piano candidates present solo and ensemble recitals, study repertoire, pedagogy, performance techniques, music history, research methods, and complete a final scholarly work. CCM's distinctive cognate program allows students to cultivate secondary specialties. Our distinguished faculty provide personalized attention and performance opportunities locally and internationally.

Alumni hold prominent teaching positions at global conservatories and excel as performers, composers, arrangers, and competition directors. They've earned accolades at prestigious events like the Naumburg, National Chopin, and William Kapell competitions.

As part of the University of Cincinnati, a leading research institution with over 40,000 students, CCM benefits from this dynamic relationship. This unique setting shapes our mission: to cultivate complete artists and scholars prepared for global leadership in their fields.
