The University of Cincinnati's Public Relations program stands among just 20 nationwide to earn the prestigious Certification in Education for Public Relations (CEPR) from the Public Relations Society of America. Our PR curriculum is built upon the foundational research from the Commission on Public Relations Education.
The program's coursework directly aligns with our educational objectives. First, we aim to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of communication theories, particularly those relevant to public relations study and practice. By mastering both theoretical concepts and practical applications, students develop critical thinking and analytical skills applicable throughout their academic journey and professional lives. We strive to cultivate essential PR competencies while teaching students how to continuously enhance these abilities.
Second, we offer diverse learning experiences that combine academic instruction with real-world practice. Through classroom learning, internships, special projects, an active PRSSA chapter, and connections with our local PRSA professionals, we provide students with a well-rounded view of the PR field. Our focus extends beyond technical training - we're committed to developing true PR professionals.
Our ultimate mission is to prepare graduates who excel both academically and professionally. We empower our students to succeed in whatever career direction they choose, making their professional achievement the primary objective of our PR program.
