The University of Cincinnati's Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education equips students to teach grades 4-9 across two subject areas while also training them as special education intervention specialists for K-12 students with mild to moderate needs. This comprehensive dual-licensure program focuses on developing educators capable of supporting diverse student populations.
Our Mathematics and Natural Science concentration within the Middle Childhood Education program trains graduates to design evidence-based curricula, maintain effective classrooms, and address learners' academic and personal development. The mathematics component emphasizes numerical concepts, algebra, geometry, data analysis, and measurement, while natural science explores earth sciences, biology, and physics. Graduates with this specialization gain the knowledge and skills to effectively teach these subjects to middle-grade students.
