The University of Cincinnati's Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education equips students to teach grades 4-9 across two subject areas while also training them to serve as special education intervention specialists for K-12 students with mild to moderate needs. This comprehensive dual-certification program focuses on developing educators capable of supporting diverse student populations.
Our Mathematics and Natural Science concentration within the Middle Childhood Education program trains graduates to design evidence-based curricula, maintain effective classrooms, and address learners' academic and personal development. The mathematics component encompasses numerical concepts, algebra, geometry, data analysis, and measurement. Natural science studies incorporate earth sciences, biology, and physics. Graduates specializing in these fields will possess both the knowledge and self-assurance to effectively instruct middle school students in these subjects.
