The University of Cincinnati provides a blended Health Sciences program featuring a Pre-Occupational Therapy pathway designed to ready students for graduate-level occupational therapy studies. Occupational therapists (OTs) assess and assist patients across all age groups who have injuries, medical conditions, or disabilities by employing purposeful activities (occupations). These healthcare professionals utilize daily routines, vocational tasks, recreational activities, and hobbies to support clients in adjusting to personal situations while promoting overall wellbeing.
This distinctive program incorporates an Occupational Therapy introductory course led by the Pre-OT Program Director, a seasoned occupational therapy practitioner.
By merging core instruction in natural and behavioral sciences with practical human studies like exercise physiology, movement mechanics, kinesiology, dietary science, and health promotion, graduates become highly competitive for advanced education programs. The degree also automatically includes a psychology minor and offers chances to obtain additional credentials in nutrition, public health, or developmental disabilities with little extra coursework.
