The violin program equips students to earn a performance degree with a focus on technical and artistic growth specific to violin playing. At the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), students receive diverse orchestral training ranging from full symphony performances to specialized ensembles concentrating on particular eras and modern compositions. CCM maintains an active chamber music curriculum featuring semesterly recitals and a yearly competition. Furthermore, CCM organizes at least one annual violin competition, with the victor performing their concerto alongside either the CCM Philharmonia or Concert Orchestra.
