Law plays a fundamental role in every aspect of our social fabric. The Interdisciplinary Studies: Law and Society bachelor's program prepares students to become leaders with a comprehensive grasp of legal systems, the institutions that shape laws, and how legislation interacts with our communities, cultures, economic systems, and political landscapes. This degree examines how legal frameworks both influence and are influenced by political, social, and cultural developments. Offered through the School of Public and International Affairs in collaboration with UC College of Law, the program places Political Science and Law at its core while drawing specialized knowledge from diverse fields such as:
Sociology, Environmental Studies, History, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, Business, English, Journalism, and Philosophy.
This interdisciplinary structure enables students to personalize their education by choosing from multiple degree pathways and exploring dual major opportunities. The program serves as excellent preparation for legal education.
Students in the Law and Society program cultivate robust research and analytical abilities through examining legal systems in both national and global settings.
