Technical Study Associate degrees are granted upon finishing a structured curriculum tailored to meet the demand for specialized technical training. The One-Year Pathway enables Ohio Technical Center (OTC) graduates who complete programs of 600+ hours and earn industry-recognized certifications to receive a block of technical credits applicable toward an Associate of Technical Study (Type B). This Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) program aims to establish a statewide framework for granting technical credits, complementing existing systems like Career-Technical Assurance Guides (CTAGs). Qualified students will receive 20-30 semester hours of block credit for approved OTC programs, counting toward the 60-semester-hour ATS degree requirement.
