The UC Clermont Early Childhood Education program prepares students to teach children from pre-kindergarten to 5th grade in diverse environments such as preschools, Head Start initiatives, childcare facilities, and both public and private schools. This program equips future educators with knowledge about the intricate social and developmental aspects of teaching young learners, while emphasizing inclusive practices that foster diversity and establish a basis for continuous education. While a bachelor's degree in education is necessary for teaching certification, UC Clermont provides foundational first and second-year courses, with students typically transferring to UC Clifton to finish their bachelor's degree requirements.

Qualification Requirements
This program is open to all students with a high school diploma or GED and the desire to succeed in college. Although admission is open, students accepted into the program must meet the academic standards of the program to advance to upper levels of study.
As a first-year student, you will need to take an English and mathematics placement test if you have not obtained the minimum ACT/SAT score required for exemption.
Proof of English Ability Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
Duolingo: 100 overall, 100 Production score, 100 Conversation
TOEFL: 79 iBT, 15 sub-score, 20 - writing, 20 - speaking
Cambridge: 176, recommended exam - C1 Advanced
IELTS: 6.5 overall, 5.5 sub-score, 6 - writing, 6 - speak
SAT-I: 480 evidenced-based reading & writing
ELS: 112 graduation
