Building on the Divinity School's long-standing dedication to educating ministerial scholars, the current program embraces students from diverse backgrounds—including Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, Confucian, Christian, and humanist traditions—as they ready themselves for service in an expanding array of contexts. Alongside those pursuing ordination and conventional religious leadership roles, students immerse themselves in the study of their traditions' histories, sacred languages, foundational texts, theological perspectives, philosophical frameworks, ethical systems, and anthropological examinations of active faith communities. This academic journey strengthens their comprehension of both personal convictions and the needs of the communities they'll serve. Throughout the three-year MDiv program, specialized cohort classes encourage students to investigate and practice religious leadership techniques within their own traditions and others, enhancing their expertise while broadening their spiritual perspectives to prepare them for meaningful, creative public involvement in our evolving multi-faith world.
