Biology explores living systems across time, from ancient to modern. The College's faculty maintains that a solid foundation in biological sciences is crucial for comprehending human existence, our environment, and addressing critical global challenges while contributing to potential solutions. Our academic program provides instruction across diverse biological disciplines, spanning theoretical frameworks to hands-on experimentation, and examining life at molecular/genetic levels through to ecosystem dynamics. As part of a leading research university, all Biological Sciences Collegiate Division courses emphasize scientific inquiry, investigation, and breakthrough discoveries. The program aims to equip students with: (1) knowledge of established biological principles and their experimental foundations, and (2) awareness of current knowledge limitations and emerging research possibilities. Bachelor of Science (BS): The BS program caters to students seeking deeper specialization through advanced coursework, research participation, and completion of a thesis documenting their investigations. Graduating BS students will: (1) master scientific experimental design, (2) contribute to research data collection, (3) critically assess research findings, (4) contextualize data within their discipline, and (5) present their work in a comprehensive thesis.
