Biology explores living systems across time, from ancient to modern. The College's faculty maintains that a solid foundation in biological sciences is crucial for comprehending our existence, the environment we inhabit, and addressing critical challenges confronting society while contributing to potential solutions. Our academic program provides instruction across diverse disciplines, ranging from theoretical frameworks to hands-on experimentation, encompassing both microscopic genetic processes and macroscopic ecological relationships. As part of a leading research university, all Biological Sciences Collegiate Division courses emphasize scientific inquiry, investigation, and breakthroughs. The Biological Sciences curriculum aims to equip students with: (1) knowledge of established biological principles and their empirical foundations, and (2) awareness of current knowledge limitations and prospects for future scientific exploration. Bachelor of Arts (BA): The BA program caters to students seeking comprehensive biological education while maintaining the option to pursue complementary studies beyond the major.
