Dive into the fundamentals and explore the essential components of matter along with their transformations through the University of Central Missouri's Bachelor of Science in Chemistry program. As a Chemistry student at UCM, you'll learn to evaluate hypotheses and engage in dynamic conversations about groundbreaking scientific developments. While any program covers core chemistry concepts—and ours does too—UCM places special focus on developing crucial analytical skills. These competencies prepare you to address unfamiliar challenges, equipping you to handle real-world professional scenarios. As a UCM Chemistry student, you'll select one of three specialized paths to complete your degree:
ACS-certified Chemistry: Adheres to a curriculum endorsed by the American Chemical Society's national division
Chemistry: Offers comparable coursework to the ACS track with greater adaptability, ideal for transfer students from non-ACS programs
Biochemistry: Focuses on chemical applications in cellular and molecular biological studies
