The Education Specialist program offers two specialized pathways: the Master's 30 Plus Track and the School Counseling Track. This advanced graduate program builds upon foundational coursework without serving as a final academic credential. The EdS in Education enables master's degree holders to further their professional development and/or doctoral preparation (for either EdD or PhD programs) through additional graduate-level studies leading to a formal degree.
The Master's 30 Plus Track serves as an advanced graduate option for those who already hold a master's degree. It caters to professionals seeking to expand their knowledge for doctoral studies, deepen expertise in their current teaching field, or acquire new specializations.
The CACREP-accredited School Counseling track within the Education Specialist (EdS) program readies students for certification as school counselors across all educational levels, from preschool to postsecondary. This track specifically targets practicing educators with existing master's degrees in education, equipping them with the skills to serve as professional school counselors in diverse educational settings from early childhood through higher education.
