The Exceptional Education specialization within the Education PhD program equips doctoral candidates to become skilled leaders in special education through teaching, research, and community engagement.

This rigorous academic track emphasizes building expertise in conducting studies, applying evidence-based methods, and assessing innovative initiatives for students with special needs.

To complete the Exceptional Education PhD track, students must earn at least 60 credits post-master's degree, including 24 core course credits, 15 specialization credits, 6 internship credits, and 15 dissertation credits. Additionally, all candidates must pass the qualifying examination.
