Pursuing a B.M. in Music Performance with a focus on one of 14 instruments or voice, you'll receive personalized one-on-one instruction from our exceptional faculty—accomplished soloists, opera performers, orchestral musicians, and world-class educators. You'll gain hands-on experience through class recitals, chamber music performances, and participation in major ensembles like chamber choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, brass choir, contemporary music groups, and our yearly opera production. Your coursework in music history, theory, and analysis will be taught by esteemed scholars who direct doctoral programs. Our comprehensive music library, stocked with scores, literature, and recordings, will be at your disposal. During your upper-division years, you'll present public recitals in our premier concert venues, preparing you for solo performance opportunities, teaching careers, or advanced studies. The program also features masterclasses with globally touring artists visiting Santa Barbara and engagements with celebrated composers.
