As a Bachelor of Music in Performance student specializing in one of 14 instruments or voice, you'll receive personalized one-on-one instruction from our exceptional faculty throughout your program. Our instructors are active professionals - including concert soloists, opera performers, orchestral musicians, and world-class educators. You'll gain performance experience through class recitals, chamber music groups, and large ensembles like chamber choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, brass choir, contemporary music groups, and our yearly opera production. Your music history, theory, and analysis courses will be taught by acclaimed scholars who direct graduate doctoral programs. You'll utilize our exceptional music library resources, including scores, texts, and recordings. During your third and fourth years, you'll present public recitals in our premier concert venues, preparing you for solo performance opportunities while building skills for teaching or advanced study. The program regularly hosts masterclasses with internationally touring artists visiting Santa Barbara, along with visits from prominent composers.
