Pursuing a B.M. in Music Performance with a focus on one of 14 instruments or voice, you'll receive personalized one-on-one instruction from our exceptional faculty—accomplished soloists, opera performers, orchestral musicians, and world-class educators. You'll gain hands-on experience through in-class performances, chamber music recitals, and participation in major ensembles like the chamber choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, brass choir, contemporary music group, and yearly opera productions. Your coursework in music history, theory, and analysis will be taught by esteemed professors who direct doctoral programs. Our comprehensive music library, stocked with scores, literature, and recordings, will be at your disposal. During your junior and senior years, you'll present public recitals in our premier concert venues, preparing you for solo performance opportunities, teaching careers, or advanced studies. The program also features masterclasses with globally touring artists visiting Santa Barbara and engagements with celebrated composers.
