The Music Department offers undergraduate programs culminating in two degree options: (1) a Bachelor of Arts in Music, or (2) a Bachelor of Music, which is a professional degree specializing in performance or composition. These undergraduate tracks prepare students for music careers, advanced graduate studies, or serve as a focused component of a liberal arts education. At the graduate level, programs lead to Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in composition, ethnomusicology, musicology, and theory. Additionally, the Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in performance provide advanced training in the intellectual, technical, and professional competencies required for modern performers.
