Feminist Studies is a vibrant, cross-disciplinary area exploring how gender and sexuality shape all facets of human experience. Our professors analyze gender through a critical, worldwide lens that highlights the wisdom, activism, and resilience of communities facing gender oppression. As part of our program, you'll develop skills to recognize gender dynamics in contemporary challenges and conduct groundbreaking research that illuminates historical and current contexts while advancing equity. Throughout your education, you'll gain comprehensive knowledge about gender and sexuality, equipping you for advanced scholarship, roles in feminist and LGBTQ advocacy groups, and diverse professional paths. Specializations within our department encompass African diaspora cultural analysis, queer and trans theory, work and labor research, migration patterns, reproductive rights, and performance art scholarship.
You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
English Language Proficiency
The minimum accepted score for admission consideration for the TOEFL is 80 or better on the Internet-based test and 550 or better on the paper-based test.
The minimum accepted score for the IELTS is 6.5 or better band score (academic modules).
