The MPH program offers a modern, challenging 2-year curriculum with both thesis and practical capstone pathways. Students will learn foundational public health subjects including Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy and Management, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. We're thrilled to introduce this new degree to UC San Diego's public health portfolio, where it will perfectly complement our existing Bachelor of Science in Public Health, the Joint Doctoral Program with San Diego State University, and the PhD in Biostatistics. The inaugural MPH class will begin in Fall 2018. This intensive 2-year program features both thesis and capstone tracks, fully meeting CEPH accreditation standards while aligning with the developing UC San Diego School of Public Health's focus areas. The curriculum covers essential public health disciplines - Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy and Management, and Social and Behavioral Sciences - while collaborating with other university departments to tackle modern challenges like climate change and data science.
