The Scripps Institution of Oceanography provides graduate programs in Oceanography, Marine Biology, and Earth Sciences. Graduate studies focus on one of three primary academic tracks: the Climate-Ocean-Atmosphere Program, Geosciences of the Earth, Oceans, and Planets, or the Ocean Biosciences Program. The curriculum highlights the interconnected nature of marine and earth science research. Participants are urged to enroll in cross-disciplinary courses across UC San Diego and engage in multidisciplinary research initiatives. Qualified undergraduates pursuing majors at Scripps Institution of Oceanography or allied disciplines can apply for the combined Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) program. This opportunity is exclusively available to UC San Diego undergraduates and involves collaborative research projects developed by the student and a faculty advisory committee from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
