The Scripps Institution of Oceanography provides advanced degree programs in Oceanography, Marine Biology, and Earth Sciences. Graduate studies focus on one of three primary academic tracks: the Climate-Ocean-Atmosphere Program, Geosciences of Earth, Oceans, and Planets, or the Ocean Biosciences Program. This curriculum highlights the interconnected research approaches in marine and earth sciences. Participants are urged to enroll in cross-departmental courses at UC San Diego and engage in multidisciplinary research initiatives. Qualified undergraduates pursuing relevant majors can apply for the combined Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) program, exclusively available to UC San Diego students. This accelerated pathway involves collaborative research projects developed by the student and a faculty advisory committee from Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
