The mathematics department provides an extensive selection of courses in both theoretical and practical mathematics, catering to its majors as well as students from other fields. Seven BS degree options are available: mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics-computer science, a combined mathematics and economics major, mathematics-scientific computation, mathematics-applied science with probability and statistics, along with one BA program in mathematics-secondary education. Students also have the option to pursue minors in mathematics or mathematics education. For outstanding students across all eight majors, the department features an Honors Program. This specialized applied mathematics track focuses on developing computer-based solutions for scientific challenges, ideal for those with a strong interest in computational science.
