The mathematics department provides an extensive selection of courses in both theoretical and practical mathematics, catering to its majors as well as students from other fields. The department features seven BS degree options: mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics-computer science, a combined mathematics and economics major, mathematics-scientific computation, mathematics-applied science, and probability and statistics, along with one BA program in mathematics-secondary education. Students also have the option to pursue minors in mathematics or mathematics education. For high-achieving students across all eight majors, the department offers an Honors Program. This particular major is tailored for those with a strong interest in probability theory and statistics, serving as excellent preparation for various career paths and graduate studies.
