The Biological Anthropology B.S. program concentrates on health from an evolutionary perspective (including environmental factors influencing both emerging and chronic illnesses) and human evolutionary biology. It provides specialized training in biological, anatomical, and molecular techniques to investigate human biology and health, ranging from DNA analysis to comprehensive studies of organisms, ecosystems, and social structures. This degree program holds particular significance for those interested in primate and human health, as it examines health through evolutionary and biological lenses (spanning molecular, cellular, societal, and ecological scales) within the framework of One Health (the interconnectedness of human and animal health). B.S. students in Biological Anthropology will gain valuable experience through direct collaboration with faculty researchers in on-campus laboratories. This undergraduate program serves as excellent preparation for students pursuing graduate studies, pre-health professions, or scientific careers.
