The mathematics department provides an extensive selection of courses in both theoretical and practical mathematics, catering to its majors as well as students from other fields. The department features six BS degree options: mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics-computer science, a combined mathematics and economics major, mathematics-applied science with probability and statistics, along with one BA program in mathematics-secondary education. Students also have the option to pursue minors in mathematics or mathematics education. An Honors Program is available for outstanding students across all eight major tracks. Detailed information about program prerequisites and departmental course offerings can be found in the major programs section, related subject areas, and course descriptions later in this document.
An applied mathematics major is additionally available, designed for students aiming to specialize in the intersection of mathematics with other disciplines.
