The media honors program assists students in creating exceptional professional portfolios. The honors thesis consists of a year-long series of independent studies, allowing ample time for concept development and the creation of critically engaged work. Participants can choose to collaborate with various faculty advisors each semester or maintain one advisor throughout the academic year. The Visual Arts Department provides instruction in diverse disciplines including painting, drawing, sculpture, performance art, digital arts, film, video production, photography, and art history/criticism (covering both film and video). Graduates earn a bachelor's degree that delivers comprehensive liberal arts education, preparing them for artistic careers, advanced studies in art history or fine arts, and professional opportunities in museum curation, television production, commercial filmmaking, photography, and digital media industries.
