The Department maintains a vibrant research initiative involving 44 faculty members and 132 graduate students. Our research spans both theoretical and experimental domains, covering Astrophysics, Biophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Cosmology, Fundamental Precision Measurements, High Energy Physics, Relativistic Heavy Ion and Nucleon Spin Physics, and Surface Physics. Research is conducted using facilities at UCR as well as major national and international laboratories.
With UC Riverside's rapid growth, we've seized the chance to develop into a premier physics department while preserving our supportive mentoring approach. The graduate program remains a campus priority, enabling us to provide competitive financial assistance. Every incoming graduate student receives full support through fellowships and teaching assistant packages.
