The Master of Arts in Special Education and Autism equips you to support the varied requirements of students with learning differences and autism spectrum disorders. This degree also serves as a foundation for pursuing doctoral studies or entering research fields focused on special needs populations.
Available as a full-time program starting each Fall quarter, it offers two completion options: Plan I (Thesis Track) or Plan II (Comprehensive Exam Track).
Plan I (Thesis Track): Requires completion of 36 upper-division and graduate credits, with a minimum of 24 graduate-level course credits. Students may allocate up to 12 credits toward thesis research.
Plan II (Comprehensive Exam Track): Involves completing 36 upper-division and graduate credits across Education and related disciplines, with at least 18 graduate-level credits. This track excludes thesis research coursework.
