The Master of Arts in Political Science aligns with the initial two years of the Ph.D. curriculum. A limited number of students are accepted into this program under exceptional conditions. Graduate assistantships are not provided for MA candidates. Prospective applicants should consult the Director of Graduate Admissions prior to submitting an application. The program requires completion of 36 units, with a minimum of 28 units from 200-level political science courses, including POSC 201, POSC 202A, and POSC 203.

International Relations. Requires POSC 216 (core course) plus one additional field course.
American Politics. Requires POSC 249 (core course) plus one additional field course.
Mass Political Behavior. Requires either POSC 255 or POSC 256 (core courses) plus one additional field course.
