The Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience (CCN) program provides specialized training in research and coursework covering:
Memory formation and learning
Action coordination and motor skills
Language processing and speech
Sensory perception in vision and hearing
CCN researchers focus on investigating cognitive functions and their biological foundations, aiming to comprehend how these elements shape our engagement with the environment.
Faculty members employ behavioral research methods, with many incorporating advanced computational models and neuroscience approaches such as EEG/ERP studies and neuroimaging techniques.
Our studies encompass diverse groups, from different age ranges to monolingual and bilingual individuals, animal subjects, and artificial intelligence systems. Research areas extend to age-related cognitive changes, human-computer interaction, cognitive training, and neurodegenerative conditions. While primarily based at UCR, our work frequently involves international collaborations with researchers worldwide.
