As a pioneer in California's Analytical Chemistry education, UCR boasts a distinguished legacy and strong reputation in the discipline. Our program provides California's most comprehensive curriculum and bioanalytical instruction. Learners utilize cutting-edge equipment to master techniques for obtaining chemical data from intricate systems. Graduates from UCR's Analytical Chemistry program are exceptionally prepared for careers in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and academic research.
UCR's Analytical Chemistry graduate program encompasses a wide array of instruments, applications, and molecular studies, including atmospheric compounds, proteins, lipids, genetic materials, carbohydrates, and metabolic products. Those in the Cheng, Genereux, Julian, Wang, Xue, H. Zhang, and Zhong research teams develop proficiency with critical analytical techniques such as biosensors, fluorescence spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, NMR, separation methods, and surface plasmon resonance to solve significant scientific challenges. While specializing in other fields, Professors Bardeen, Bartels, Mueller, Yin, Zaera, and J. Zhang also offer research opportunities relevant to analytical chemistry students.
