The Bioengineering Bachelor of Science degree holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission, meeting both General Criteria and specific Program Criteria for Bioengineering, Biomedical, and similarly titled Engineering Programs. Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) for the Bioengineering BS degree state that our alumni will: Emerge as innovators in bioengineering/biomedical engineering and associated disciplines, Possess the skills to thrive in bioengineering graduate programs, excel in medical device or biotech industry roles, or succeed in medical/health professional schools. Demonstrate professional effectiveness through individual work and teamwork, with strong communication abilities to synthesize multidisciplinary approaches for solving biological and medical challenges.
Maintain awareness and consideration of diverse ethical and societal issues pertaining to bioengineering/biomedical engineering practices.
