The Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production provides a Bachelor of Arts degree program covering Theatre, Film, and Digital Production. This program emphasizes three key aspects of theatre and film: literary studies, historical context, and critical analysis; performance, design, direction, and technical skills; and production fundamentals. Students gain hands-on experience in writing, performing, directing, and designing. The department features four performance venues: the 500-seat proscenium University Theatre, the 125-seat Studio Theatre in the Arts building equipped with cutting-edge technology, and the 125-seat Rehearsal Lab.
Participants can hone their acting skills through faculty-led productions, student-run shows, and classroom performances. Advanced students may undertake specialized projects to create original works or deepen their expertise in acting, directing, design, or playwriting.
To support its mission of delivering an exceptional performing arts education, the department offers a Film Making Track for aspiring filmmakers. Alongside courses in film production, screenwriting, acting, and technology, students complete required coursework in literature and theory.
