While master's programs in public policy are widely available at U.S. universities, bachelor's degrees and minors in this field remain rare at the undergraduate level. Just a select few institutions nationwide - including Stanford, Carnegie Mellon, USC, and Brown - provide these programs. Notably, UCR stands as the pioneer in the University of California system, being the first public policy school to offer an undergraduate major in this discipline.
The public policy program at UCR's School of Public Policy equips students with versatile research, analytical, and management competencies applicable across various sectors and policy domains. This comprehensive training opens doors to careers not just in government service (at federal, state, and municipal levels) but also in both nonprofit and corporate settings.
