Environmental Sciences integrates multiple scientific disciplines to study and interpret the natural world. This interdisciplinary field examines the connections between Earth's physical, chemical, and biological systems alongside human societal structures. The Environmental Sciences curriculum equips students for professional roles across various sectors or advanced education in science, policy, health, or business fields related to the environment.
The Environmental Sciences Department provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree options. Majors must fulfill foundational coursework requirements, complete 8 units of introductory electives, and 20 units of advanced electives. The program recommends focusing studies within one of five concentration tracks: Soil Science, Water Sciences, Atmospheric Studies, Environmental Toxicology, or Sustainability Management.
