UC Riverside's biochemistry bachelor's program offers three specialization tracks tailored to students' career aspirations: biology, chemistry, and medical sciences. Students can earn either a B.A. or B.S. degree in this field. The program provides significant financial support, with 85% of undergraduates receiving aid and 70% obtaining full tuition coverage through grants and scholarships. Numerous research opportunities on campus engage many undergraduate students.
Departmental research covers diverse areas including molecular biology, physical biochemistry, endocrinology at the molecular level, plant biochemistry & molecular biology, cellular signaling, and biomedical studies. Beyond collaborating with faculty on cross-disciplinary projects, the new School of Medicine creates unprecedented chances for students to enhance their lab skills and research experience during their undergraduate studies. Graduates leave with strong preparation for health professions, advanced scientific studies, or other science-related careers.
