The Department of Physics and Astronomy provides graduate programs including the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Astronomy and Astrophysics, along with Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs in the same field. Additionally, it offers a Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Physics, plus M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Physics. UCLA's physics research covers diverse areas, from established large-scale scientific endeavors like Higgs boson investigations at the LHC and plasma science for fusion energy, to cutting-edge domains such as neuroscience physics and quantum science.
An international student whose post-secondary education is completed outside of the U.S. is expected to hold a degree representing completion of at least four years of study with above average scholarship from a university or university-level institution.
IELTS Academic overall band score should be at least 7.0 is the minimum required.
TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
