The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in oral biology, provided by the Division of Oral Biology and Medicine within the School of Dentistry, prepares exceptional students to emerge as leaders in academic dental research. The School of Dentistry leads pioneering studies in oral biology, encompassing fields like head and neck oncology, microbial/immunological oral science, skeletal biology, and biomedical engineering. This PhD curriculum enables students to both study and advance these innovative disciplines. Additionally, Oral Biology features a combined DDS-PhD degree option in collaboration with the School of Dentistry.
Applicants must hold a B.S., D.D.S., or D.M.D. degree, or the equivalent, with a strong background in basic sciences, including two years of chemistry (inorganic, organic, and biological chemistry), one year of biology, and one year of physics.
IELTS Academic overall band score should be at least 7.0 is the minimum required.
TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
