The finance department has consistently ranked among the globe's premier academic programs. As a field, finance demands strong quantitative skills. Faculty research primarily targets publication in leading finance journals with significant scholarly influence. The department maintains a diverse research scope, spanning from empirical macro-asset-pricing models with rational expectations to behavioral and experimental approaches. UCLA Anderson's finance program stands out for its exceptional culture of collaboration, surpassing typical academic partnerships. Currently, nearly all faculty members across all levels actively collaborate with doctoral candidates. It's particularly noteworthy that many advanced Ph.D. candidates co-author papers with both junior and senior faculty. In fact, a substantial portion of groundbreaking finance research originates from collaborations formed at UCLA between faculty and doctoral students.
