The Geophysics and Space Physics program provides research opportunities in Earth's internal structure (including seismic activity, gravitational forces, heat distribution, magnetic fields, and plate movements), fluid dynamics in geophysical contexts (covering chaotic flows, rotational effects, equilibrium states, and magnetic fluid interactions), complex systems behavior, planetary science (encompassing orbital mechanics, planetary composition, surface features, atmospheric conditions, and solar system formation), and space environment studies (focusing on Earth's magnetic shield, energetic particle zones, solar emissions, interstellar magnetic influences, and high-energy particles). Our faculty members frequently collaborate across disciplines. The following researchers specialize in areas relevant to our Geophysics and Space Physics (G&SP) graduate curriculum.
Applicants must have outstanding records in the relevant basic sciences and mathematics. Qualified students may proceed directly toward the Ph.D., although most obtain the M.S. degree in the process.
IELTS Academic overall band score should be at least 7.0 is the minimum required.
TOEFL score on the paper and pencil test must be at least 560 or at least 87 on the internet-based test.
