Climate change stands as one of the most urgent challenges confronting today's generation. Learners who gain expertise in the scientific foundations of climate change and risk assessment will contribute to addressing this global issue. The Climate Science program in the Department of Atmospheric & Oceanic Sciences equips students with essential knowledge to evaluate climate effects stemming from both human-caused alterations and natural fluctuations, while also developing strategies to address and reduce these impacts. Additionally, the program fosters comprehension of climate systems necessary for effectively conveying climate data to policymakers across government agencies, businesses, and nonprofit organizations.
