The Geography Department provides two undergraduate majors leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree, along with three minor options. Our programs equip students for careers in both public and private sectors—including roles in environmental analysis, cartography, regional studies, spatial economics, and education—while also laying the foundation for advanced studies in law, urban planning, social sciences, and specialized geography fields.
Designed to enhance your comprehension of ecological challenges, the curriculum adopts a systems-based approach to examining pressing environmental concerns affecting communities worldwide. You'll explore how human activities influence natural systems and assess the consequences of environmental shifts across local, regional, and global scales.
This major particularly appeals to liberal arts students and those focusing on international affairs, sustainable development, ecological studies, or geospatial technologies. The program's theoretical framework and methodological tools offer versatile applications for environmental inquiries while fostering the global awareness essential for engaged citizenship.
