The Gender Studies program delivers an exceptional education focused on developing analytical and writing abilities, qualitative research techniques, and a global perspective on social disparities. Our instructors incorporate feminist teaching methods and their scholarly work into classroom instruction. Foundational courses explore themes of gender and embodiment, power dynamics, and knowledge systems, covering diverse subjects including civil liberties, activism, male identities, labor and recreation, equity policies, intersecting identities, historical and sexual trauma, and media representation in civic life. Gender Studies provides both major and minor options, available to all undergraduates in the College of Letters and Science, with potential enrollment opportunities for students from other Schools through petition.
