Communication majors can explore the wide array of subjects within this vibrant field. The program incorporates courses from nearly twelve departments across both the College of Letters and Science and the School of Fine Arts. While classified as a Social Science major in the College of Letters and Science, the curriculum also draws from Humanities, Life Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
This interdisciplinary approach equips students with scholarly foundations suitable for diverse career paths. Course offerings include Mass Communication and Media Studies, Interpersonal Communication, Communication Technology and Digital Systems, and Political and Legal Communication. Students also have options to specialize in Computing, pursue a minor, or complete a double major.
Class sizes vary from larger lectures like COMM 10 with around 250 students to smaller seminars typically capped at 25. Numerous Communication courses welcome both majors and non-majors alike.
