The undergraduate (B.A.) program offers classes in Ceramics, Interdisciplinary Studio, New Genres, Painting & Drawing, Photography, and Sculpture. This curriculum blends hands-on studio practice with exploration of visual arts' worldwide context, historical roots, and academic dimensions, giving students the foundation to cultivate their unique artistic voice. UCLA's Painting and Drawing program fosters creative risk-taking while honoring traditional artistic methods. Students investigate the full expressive potential of painting, drawing, and printmaking while forming their own critical perspective on the medium. The program enhances visual perception through image interpretation, creation, and transformation, while sharpening analytical abilities via historical context discussions, assigned texts, group critiques, and museum/gallery visits. Top-tier facilities and distinguished faculty—both permanent and visiting—create an inspiring environment for artistic growth.
